Mr. Debonaire

produced by Zachary Sultovich
mentored by Jasmine Holloway
Mr. Debonair asks the question no one in the superhero genre bothers with — what is the villain's side of the story? Set in the underground tunnels of New York City's 42nd Street L train stop, the play follows Norman Price — known to the world as Mr. Debonair — a brilliant, charming man whose origin is not evil but heartbreak. Told through three women who shaped him, it is a dark and deeply human story about betrayal, identity, and what the world creates when it refuses to ask why.

Mr. Debonair was written by Michele Michou Vital — playwright, director, actress, and visual artist. Created through the 24 Hour Play tradition, a challenge in which an entire production is written, rehearsed, and performed within a single day, the work marks her second theatrical production under the mentorship of her teacher and director. A Kennedy Center award recipient and LaGuardia Community College theatre graduate, Michou Vital brings to the stage a perspective shaped by decades of work across the music industry, fine art, set design, and costume design. Her creative fingerprints have touched some of the most iconic names in hip hop and R&B. Mr. Debonair is not her introduction to the world — it is simply the world catching up to her.

Mattia Mengozzi
Actor
Matt Mengozzi is an Italian born theatre major at LaGuardia Community College, bringing an authentic European presence to the stage that is as striking as it is unexpected. In Mr. Debonair he steps into the role of Norman Price — a man of charm, good looks, and a story the world never thought to ask about. Through Norman Price, Mengozzi reminds us that the most compelling stories are not found in the hero's triumph, but in the wounds that shaped the villain.
Jane's visual storytelling adds depth and richness to each production, creating immersive experiences for the audience.
